Greater Shantallow Community Arts /Studio2 Derry

Greater Shantallow Community Arts /Studio2 Derry is a community arts organisation based in the Outer North Area of Derry aiming to provide direct access to the arts within disadvantaged communities. GSCA seeks to bring the arts and cultural activity to the heart of areas of significant marginalisation and deprivation and address complex social issues such as social exclusion, isolation, lack of opportunity and poverty.
GSCA aims to enrich lives, promote artists, the arts and cultural activity while growing audiences and increasing access to the arts. This includes providing opportunity for hands- on experience of creative activity using a wide range of artforms including drama, music, traditional arts, dance, visual arts, and carnival. GSCA is committed to equality regardless of cultural background, age, disability, sexual orientation or economic status.
GSCA seeks to enhance the health and wellbeing of residents through facilitating their engagement in community arts initiatives and projects that allows the trans-formative power of the arts to unlock their creative potential.
GSCA through its development of Studio 2 offers facilities, services and programmes that target those people at greatest risk of social exclusion and marginalisation and providing formal and informal creative learning opportunities utilising the services of professional artists, arts practice and arts facilitators.
